Voicethread.com
A VoiceThread is a collaborative tool that is interactive. You can make slide shows that hold images, documents and videos. You can make comments on slides in 5 ways: using voice (with a microphone or telephone), text, audio file (for VoiceThread Pro users), or video (via a webcam). When you share your voicethread, others can leave comments also. You can save your voice thread on your computer, a CD or a flash drive so that you can email it or play it on a digital device.
Voicethreads I created
The following are voicethreads I created. The first two incorporate using a read aloud in the library as a spring board for online research and collaborative work on a voicethread. The first one is a "how to" on using online databases available to our students. The second one is the beginning of the voicethread we will use as a presentation of our research. The third one I created was for fun. The students searched through the school's online catalog for books they were interested in . We took a picture of the book cover using screencastomatic.com and recorded the student stating their interest in that type of book. The last two are unfinished products but gives an idea of the uses of Voicethreads in the library setting.
